What NOC monitoring services include
A NOC (Network Operations Centre) is the team and tooling that watches infrastructure continuously and responds when something breaks or is about to. NOC monitoring services outsource that function: we deploy the monitoring, define the thresholds with you, staff the board 24/7, triage and act on alerts, escalate to your team or ours when a fix needs a decision, and report monthly on incidents, response times and trends.
Scope covers physical and virtual servers (Linux and Windows), network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, load balancers), cloud services on AWS, Azure and GCP, containers and Kubernetes, databases, storage, backup jobs, certificates, DNS and external endpoints. If it has a metric, a log line or a health check, it goes on the board.
The difference between NOC monitoring and a monitoring tool is the people and the process. Tools generate alerts. A NOC turns them into acknowledged tickets with an engineer working them, an escalation path, and a written note when they close.
Network infrastructure monitoring
Network infrastructure monitoring covers availability, interface utilisation and errors, latency and packet loss between sites, BGP and OSPF neighbour state, VPN tunnel health, firewall session counts and CPU, wireless controller and access-point status, and configuration changes. Devices are polled by SNMP with traps for immediate state changes; flow data (NetFlow, sFlow, VPC flow logs) shows what is consuming a link before someone reports it slow.
Hybrid cloud network monitoring places a Zabbix proxy in each site and cloud VPC, so a colocation rack, a branch office and an AWS region report into one server with one alert path. Provider metrics for Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, load balancers and NAT gateways are pulled through the cloud APIs and correlated with the on-premises view.
Synthetic checks run from outside your network as well: HTTP, DNS, TCP and TLS checks from our probes tell you the site is up for customers, not just that the server thinks it is.
Server, cloud and application monitoring
Servers report through Zabbix agent 2 or Prometheus exporters: CPU, memory, disk with forecast-based alerts, I/O, service and process state, systemd and Windows service failures, patch status, reboot-required flags and hardware health through IPMI, iDRAC and iLO on physical hosts. Cloud instances add provider metrics (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Cloud Monitoring) for status checks, credits, EBS and managed-service health.
Managed databases, queues, caches and load balancers are monitored with the provider's native metrics plus direct checks where they add something: slow queries, replication lag, connection saturation, queue depth, cache hit ratio. Kubernetes clusters use Prometheus with kube-state-metrics and node exporters, alerting on pod restarts, pending pods, node pressure and failed jobs.
Application-level checks are agreed per service: an API health endpoint, a login transaction, a scheduled job that must complete by a certain time. Those are the alerts that map directly to what customers notice.
NOC alerts, escalation and response
Every alert has a severity, an owner and a runbook. Warnings go to a shared channel and are worked in business hours. High and Disaster severities page the on-call NOC engineer, who acknowledges within 15 minutes 24/7, starts the runbook, and escalates to a senior engineer or your team on a fixed timer if the fix needs a decision or access we do not hold.
Alert design is done with you, not for you. Trigger dependencies suppress the cascade when a switch or proxy goes down. Maintenance windows silence known work without hiding it. Thresholds are tuned monthly against what actually paged, so the board gets quieter over time rather than louder.
Integration is with your tools: PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, ServiceNow, email and SMS. If you already have an on-call rota, NOC alerts route into it; if you do not, ours is the rota.
Incident management and reporting
Each P1 or P2 incident produces a ticket with timeline, actions taken and a root-cause note. Repeat causes become change requests: a capacity fix, a configuration change, a new check. The monthly report covers alert volume by host and severity, acknowledgement and resolution times against SLA, uptime per service, capacity trends and the changes made to monitoring.
Reports are written for the person paying the bill first and the auditor second. For ISO 27001, SOC 2 and PCI DSS scope the NOC evidence (audit logs, acknowledgement records, SLA reports) is kept for the retention period you specify.
NOC monitoring tools we run
Zabbix is the default platform for infrastructure, network and hybrid estates: agent 2, SNMP, IPMI, cloud templates, low-level discovery, HA server and proxies per site. Prometheus with Alertmanager and Grafana covers Kubernetes and cloud-native workloads. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor and Cloud Monitoring supply provider metrics and are the right tool for AWS, Azure and GCP services that expose nothing else.

NOC monitoring pricing and engagement models
NOC services are priced per monitored node per month, with tiers for business-hours, extended-hours and 24/7 coverage, and a minimum monthly commitment for small estates. Devices, servers, cloud instances and Kubernetes nodes count as nodes; synthetic checks and provider-API items are bundled. Platform hosting for Zabbix or Prometheus is included on our infrastructure or deployed in your cloud at cost.
Typical models: fully outsourced NOC for SMBs and MSPs who have no monitoring team; overflow and out-of-hours cover for in-house teams who own the day shift; and monitoring-only where your team responds and we run the platform, tuning and reporting. Onboarding takes two to four weeks depending on estate size. Contracts are monthly rolling after the first quarter.
